TUCKER WITH AN ‘F’
I’d never before had the displeasure and distress of watching a Tucker Carlson interview., but decided to make an exception last week to watch the Tucker (with a ‘t’ not an ’f’) interview the former KGB officer and fellow narcissist Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

So, it was not bad, it was absolutely terrible as Tucker the sycophant was led by the ring in his nose by Putin, who must have thought all his Rozhdestvo Khristovo’s had come at once given a 2-hour stage to the west. All the same old Russian propaganda emanated from Putin like so much effluent – Russia’s so-called historical right to occupy parts of Ukraine, the fantasy that Ukraine’s leadership is a mere puppet of the west, and, of course the “unfair” sanctions.

Tucker, who is Trump’s pet, was a disgrace. Putin was Putin. God help us if Trump gets elected in November with the help of all the Tuckers (with a ‘t’, not an ‘f’) across America – the world and all in it will be Tuckered (with an ’F’!).

I won’t include a link for the interview – it’s easy to find if you must - however, I assure you helping your neighbour fix his leaking sewerage line would be far more enjoyable.

COP28 was the most recent climate conference held in Dubai. Held in the historical heart of world oil production, run by the former head of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, and allowing more than 2400 industry-affiliated lobbyists, including more than 450 lobbyists specialising in CARBON CAPTURE & STORAGE (CCS) ... there is little wonder the conference made no firm decisions on reducing carbon emissions and spent a great deal of precious time promoting CCS, a failed technology being used by the fossil fuel industry as a fig leaf and little more than GREENWASHING!

WHY ISN'T AUSTRALIA ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE CARBON EMISSIONS FROM THE FOSSIL FUELS WE EXPORT?
Carbon emissions occur from the first day the ground is broken for a new mine, through the mining and transportation, and the final burning of the fossil fuel.
Those emissions don't suddenly disappear from the atmosphere in a month, a year, or a decade - the bulk of carbon emissions linger in the atmosphere for up to 1,000 years!
The new "progressive" Labor government needs to stop opening new coal mines and gas facilities and take responsibility for carbon emissions caused by Australia's exported fossil fuels. Despite the "polished" emissions figures the government publishes, if exported emissions were added Australia would soon be classed as a climate pariah.

SOME PEOPLE WILL NEVER LEARN
Morrison and now Dutton have both promised a “personality makeover” – let’s have a look at how that’s going …

Morrison has elected to stay on in Parliament, which in looking at recent history does not seem a good thing for an ex-PM to do if you have the welfare of the party at heart – look at problems caused by the lingering Rudd and Abbott, and they were both so much more popular that Morrison. He says he is “disappointed” with the election result but has a sense of “gratitude” – from where I do not know. He has never once taken any responsibility for the loss, instead trying to cast the blame for the loss on to things like the very “vicious and brutal campaigns” of the independents … and that statement really doesn’t even qualify for comment!

As for Dutton, he really is precious! He barely managed to win Dickson and is already predicting hard financial times for the incoming Albanese government – hard times Mr Dutton after 10 years of coalition rule - you should know!

Dutton’s views on immigration and anything that has “colour” or is “Sino” will never change – he loves white people and is disparaging about Africans, Lebanese and New Zealanders, he has the same macho view as Morrison about women who stand up for themselves.

So, these two “Liberals” haven’t read the tealeaves yet, and perhaps they never will. Lets hope in the future, a break away, true and progressive Liberal Party salvages the liberal name as the party that has the liberal name now does not deserve it … ask any true liberal!

Going HOME to Biloela at last!

The brave and long abused Murugappan family are going home to Biloela after being held for years in detention under the Morrison government.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made the family's return to Biloela an election pledge of Labor and this has been confirmed since Saturday's election.

A wonderful, if long overdue, addition to the Australian community!

This very self-explanatory graph (thanks to Graham Readfearn, The Guardian) is something that Emissions Reduction Minister Angus Taylor and current Prime Minister Morrision would prefer you didn't see.

For the sake of the environment and our children's futures, hopefully, by this time next week, it won't be Taylor making decisions about global warming reduction measures that under him have favoured and encouraged coal mining and coal miners.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION ISSUES IN THE COMMUNITY IS ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE – WHY AREN’T THE MAJOR PARTIES LISTENING?

When dealing with climate change issues, one leader is blissfully ignorant and pretending not to be a climate change denier, and the other leader, although trying is still falling well short of the expectations of most Australian voters.

Morrison has done nothing and is almost certain to do nothing to bring Australia into line with most of our trading partners in stopping global warming. The fact is that with his cabinet stacked with climate change non-believers, and some of them in leading roles in departments critical when it comes to the environment. Joyce, Taylor and Pitt have charge of infrastructure, transport and regional development; industry, energy and emissions reduction; and resources and water. Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past three years you’ll know that none of these men have any interest in reversing global warming or reducing emissions. Unbelievably, the Minister for Emissions Reduction, Taylor has moved to expand the mandate of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to allow it to fund carbon capture and storage and “clean” hydrogen projects produced from fossil fuels – his attempts have been unsuccessful, so far!

Labor fares better – marginally. The Labor target for zero emissions beats the Morrison government’s pathetic effort by fifteen years, yet that is still nowhere near good enough as Labor appears determined to maintain, if not expand, Australia’s coal mining. One can hope that this is a “small target” ploy to help get them elected when they could gradually take a more positive stand towards helping cool the planet.

If climate change repair is of concern to you, there are probably three possible scenarios after 21st May. The first is a re-elected Morrison government, the second a Labor government, or the third more appealing scene being a minority government relying on the sensible contribution of a number of independents. It's doubtful that Morrison and coalition egos woud allow this!

QUESTION: Who would do that?

ANSWER: Our Prime Minister, Scott Morrison

QUESTION: WTF! Why would he do that?

ANSWER: Through an opaque subterfuge of spin and outright lies … nobody really knows. Perhaps the answer lies somewhere between a desire to resurrect the White Australia Policy – especially when it comes to whom we spend our money with – and Morrison’s complete lack of respect of the status of people like French President Macron, and his own twisted view of how important Australia really is in the scheme of things.

How many teachers, nurses, disability carers, and those that seem to be in permanent conflict with the NDIS could have had some benefit from that wasted $5 billion+ that will be spent to extricate Australia from a contract with France to build submarines – with absolutely nothing to show!

AUKUS is another financial catastrophe waiting to happen … just give it time, and who knows how many billions to get us out of Morrisons next stuff up.

My suggestion is, don’t give Morrison that time.

Has the minister failed to hear Dutton's aggressive and overtly hostile attacks on China? Or doesn't that count coming from a a white anglo-Auustralian?
Wouldn't it be nice to have some transparency and truth instead of all the exaggerations, spin and outright lies! It seems we won't get it from this lot who follow in the footsteps of their master, Morrison.
