The Guardian (26/11/21) has reported that former Australian Democrats leader Meg Lees has joined the advisory council of Climate 200. Les joins former Liberal party leader John Hewson, and iconic Labor veteran Barry Jones on the council.

Climate 200 is a company set up by Simon Holmes a Court as a fundraiser to help the political campaigns of independent candidates. So far Climate 200 has amassed over $4 million in donations.

With the election campaign barely started there seems little doubt independents will play a bigger role in the next Parliament, especially with the backing of organisations like Climate 200 and the support and advice of some very experienced people who are wise in the way of politics.
